Summary: By using Voice Leaf, you agree to use the app responsibly. We provide the app "as is" and are not liable for any issues arising from its use. Your content is processed for text-to-speech only and is not stored.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Voice Leaf mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Voice Leaf is a text-to-speech application for iOS that allows users to import documents (PDFs, EPUB, web articles, camera-scanned text) and listen to them read aloud using natural-sounding voices. The App features real-time word highlighting, adjustable playback speed, and multiple voice options.
3. License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.
Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App
- Remove any proprietary notices from the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Use the App to generate audio for redistribution or commercial purposes
4. Subscription Terms
Voice Leaf offers the following subscription plans:
- Weekly: $3.99 per week, billed weekly
- Yearly: $49.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial for eligible users
Billing
All subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store:
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
Free Trial
The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for eligible users. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription. You can cancel at any time through your App Store account settings.
Refunds
All subscription payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be made through Apple according to their refund policy.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you import into the App ("User Content"). This includes PDFs, web articles, scanned text, and any other materials you provide. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use and process any content you import.
Content Processing
When you use Voice Leaf to listen to text:
- Your text content is sent to our server for text-to-speech processing
- The content is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers
- We do not claim any ownership or rights over your content
- We do not use your content for training, analytics, or any other purpose beyond generating audio
Generated Audio
The text-to-speech audio generated by the App is intended solely for your personal, non-commercial use within the App. You may not extract, download, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit the generated audio. The generated audio is produced using third-party text-to-speech technology and is subject to the terms and restrictions of our technology providers.
Prohibited Content
You may not import or process content that:
- You do not own or have the legal right to use
- Infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party
- Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Contains threats, harassment, or hate speech
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate service to any user who violates these content restrictions, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Process content that you do not have the right to use
- Generate audio for redistribution, resale, or commercial purposes without authorization
- Attempt to circumvent any usage limits or restrictions
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Use the App to process content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
- Systematically or automatically extract content or data from the App
- Use the App to create audio that impersonates another person or entity
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will meet your requirements
- The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The text-to-speech output will be perfectly accurate
- Any errors in the App will be corrected
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the App
- Any conduct or content of any third party
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your data
- Inaccuracies in text-to-speech output
- Any content you import into or process through the App
- Any claims arising from your use of the generated audio
Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50), whichever is greater.
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience; no personal information is collected. Please review the Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Voice Leaf, Leap Tech LLC, and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the App
- Any content you import into or process through the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of any third party, including intellectual property rights
- Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party
11. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Voice Leaf respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any content processed through the App infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@voice-leaf.com with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- A description of where the alleged infringement is occurring
- Your contact information (name, address, phone number, email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
We may terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers.
12. Updates and Changes
We may update the App from time to time. You are responsible for ensuring you have the latest version of the App. We may also modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.
13. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. You may also terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device and cancelling any active subscriptions.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
