Anonymous Usage Analytics
We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience and understand how features are used. This includes:
- Anonymous device identifier: A random identifier with no connection to your personal identity.
- Product interaction events: Onboarding steps completed, screen views, and button taps.
- Purchase events: Product IDs and success/failure status. We do not receive or store any payment information.
- Playback events: Voice selection, speed changes, and file types opened.
- Document import metadata: Import method and file type. We do not collect the content of your documents.
This data is collected solely to improve Voice Leaf and understand feature usage. It cannot be used to identify you personally.
How We Process Content
When you use Voice Leaf to listen to text, here is what happens:
- Text transmission: The text content you want to listen to is sent to our server for text-to-speech conversion.
- No storage: Your text content is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers after the audio is generated and delivered.
- Audio delivery: The generated audio is streamed back to your device. We do not retain copies of the audio.
Your documents, PDFs, web articles, and other imported content are stored locally on your device. Only the text portions being actively read are transmitted for speech synthesis.
Third-Party Services
Text-to-Speech Processing
We use Inworld AI's text-to-speech technology to generate natural-sounding voices. When text is sent for processing:
- Text is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our server, which proxies requests to the Inworld TTS API.
- Neither our server nor Inworld stores the text content after processing.
- No personal information is shared with Inworld as part of this process.
Analytics
We use RevPath, an analytics service operated by Leap Tech LLC (our own company), to collect anonymous usage events. The analytics endpoint is revpath-api.leaptechai.com. No personal information is collected through this service. All events are anonymous and no data is shared with third parties or advertisers.
App Store
The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect certain information as described in their privacy policy. We do not have access to any personal information collected by Apple.
Data Storage
All content you import into Voice Leaf (PDFs, articles, text) is stored locally on your device. Your reading progress, voice preferences, and app settings are also stored locally. We do not have access to any data stored on your device.
Subscription and Purchases
If you subscribe to Voice Leaf, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
Children's Privacy
Voice Leaf does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. The app does not require any personal information to use.
Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All communication between the app and our server uses HTTPS encryption.
- Text content is processed in real-time and not persisted on our servers.
- Our server infrastructure uses industry-standard security practices.
Your Rights
We do not collect or store personal data. The anonymous analytics data we collect cannot be tied to a specific person. Your content is on your device and under your control.
